Darlene and Dave
What a wonderful thing personal ads are! I would probably still be looking for Mr. Right if it weren't for the Internet.
Back in the late summer of 1998 I had just returned from a student study abroad program in Berlin. I was back home in Seattle and looking for my first real job out of college. I thought to myself while I was at it, why not post a personals ad too? So, I did.
After receiving many interesting emails I finally narrowed my email correspondents down to three people to have coffee with. Dave turned out to be just that perfect guy.
I married him in the summer of 2001 and am still amazed at what a wonderful relationship we have. I say nobody should leave one of the most important aspects of their lives completely up to chance!
I don't feel sorry for perpetual bar\club hoppers who never take the initiative to search for what they're really looking for. There is still a stigma associated with finding someone online and this will probably never go away, however, that stigma could potentially cost someone his or her life's happiness."
"Our first real date after our coffee meeting was a canoe outing on Lake Washington. I wasn't too nervous because we had already hit it off on our coffee date. We both felt like impressing each other and we decided to row our rental canoe all the way across the lake to get a glimpse of Bill Gate's house."
"We had an outdoor wedding in Edmonds and went to Kauai for our honeymoon. We loved Kauai and hope to go back again for some more hiking, swimming, boating and snorkeling."
"We've purchased a house and now have a young dog. We plan to do a lot of home improvement and also learn how to perfect our dog's already almost perfect behavior."
